Church Planting & Equipping Leaders

Prison Ministry

The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) of Colorado is a non-denominational, Christ centered educational institution. We offer curriculum that focuses on equipping our students for ministry leadership, urban and international missions, church planting, and trauma healing. We are committed to excellence in biblical, theological, and pastoral education. Students may pursue a Certificate in Christian Leadership.

The Urban Ministry Institute of Colorado encourages Church Planting and equips Christian servants to plant healthy churches among the urban poor. This training is specifically designed to equip teams to reach under-resourced communities.

TUMI of Colorado invests in a prisoner’s life:

  • often considered worthless by outsiders

  • with the love of Christ Jesus and with a planned journey to Christian leadership,

Our Prison Ministry Program trains churches and ministries to do effective ministry in and through the local church. We do this in two ways:

  1. Support on the inside. We take church-based seminary (TUMI) inside the prisons.

  2. Support on the outside. Onesimus Workshops train churches and ministries to equip prisoners, welcome former prisoners into the life of the church, and empower them to do effective ministry.

Church-Based Seminary

TUMI International

TUMI of Colorado utilizes World Impact’s Trauma Healing Program and equips urban ministry workers and leaders to facilitate Bible-based healing groups. Participants can choose to be trained in leading their own healing groups, exponentially expanding the ministry.

TUMI of Colorado utilizes the Capstone Program, a ministry of World Impact,  a seminary-level biblical curriculum which is being used effectively to equip ministry leaders who might not otherwise have access to a biblical education. The 16 modules provide the most essential knowledge and skills for effective ministry and church leadership, making it an excellent tool to prepare students to be ministers of the gospel of Christ. Students earn a Certificate in Christian Leadership (32 credit hours).

Mike and Mary Dicke have a heart for starting international sites and raising up indigenous pastors to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ into their villages. They have started TUMI in India, Nepal, Ethiopia, South Africa, Republic of the Congo, and Costa Rica. Also, Mike works with multiple indigenous people to translate the TUMI Capstone and Fight the Good Fight of Faith curricula in their specific language.
